Your life is a reflection of you

Allow me to share a short story with you that I found on the internet. It is called The Mountain Story, and the author is unknown.

The Mountain Story
A son and his father are walking in the mountains.
Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams: “AAAhhhhhhhh!!!”
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain:
“AAAhhhhhhhh!!!”
Curious, he yells: “Who are you?”
He receives the answer: “Who are you?”
Angered at the response, he screams: “Coward!”
He receives the answer: “Coward!”
He looks to his father and asks: “What’s going on?”
The father smiles and say’s: “My son, pay attention.”
And he screams to the mountain: “I admire you!”
The voice answers: “I admire you!”
Again the man screams: “You are a champion!”
The voice answers: “You are a champion!”
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: “People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given it.
YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT’S A REFLECTION OF YOU.

This lovely little parable is a brilliant example of the important Law of Sowing and Reaping. The Law of Sowing and Reaping states that what you sow is what you reap. Every action, good or bad, positive or negative, generates a force of energy that returns to us in kind. If you want to reap happiness in your life, then you need to sow seeds of happiness. There is an order to this process, first you put in (sow), and then you reap.

Take every opportunity you get to have a positive effect on other people and I assure you that you will receive this goodwill back in some form or another. Develop the instinctive behaviour to respond positively and spontaneously in all situations and you will become a magnet that attracts favour, kindness and fulfilment. This behaviour will help you to fulfil your life purpose.

I believe that we all have a life purpose. Once you clearly determine what your life purpose is, you become master of your own fate and responsible for the outcomes in your life. I have learned that a clear sense of purpose can bring fulfilment and fun to virtually everything you do. Having purpose, and choosing to behave in a way that serves others positively, and by this I mean actions that give others help, success and happiness. This behaviour causes or creates “good karma”, and this karma returns to us in kind. When your true life purpose benefits others, then people, situations and opportunities that you need will be drawn towards you.

As human beings, we do not and indeed can not exist in isolation. Think about adding an element of positivity to all your interactions (with your family, friends, colleagues, fellow pedestrians, cashiers). Life is short, so determine what matters most in your life and then proceed to make a difference in the world around you. It will be worth it!
